Default 800 miles and concerns

concerns I have maybe some one can enilighten me( I hope)

1. sometimes going form 3rd to 4th it seems that the shifter sticks.
2. Very noticable lag (dv?)
3. engine is ticking I thought it would be smoother (not pinging)
4. The computer display during the day is really dim

Are 4,3, and 1 common should i take it to the dealer?

I have an A4 turbo and the engine doesnt sound like this..

Thanks for your help in advance

My A/C compressor ticks loudly. Have you tried turning off the climate controls? The A/C in this car runs almost all the time (the new Mercedes cars don't have a clutch on the A/C, they use a .1%-100% electronically controlled variable displacement compressor so it's always spinning...).

1. Sometimes trannys are a little sticky before fully broken it....what do you mean it sticks? Does it stick in 3rd and not want to move or is it notchy going into 4th - not uncommon, may need more breaking in. All depends on degree.

2. Possibly....do you have a 180 or a 225? I think the 180 displays more of this lag symptom. There is a turbo lag on both however and the Bailey and Forge valves seem to eliminate some of this making launches and punches smoother.

3. Probably the A/C as Colin said. Try turning it off to check.

4. There is a lot more ambient light during the day and the display luminence looks much dimmer relative to the daylight as opposed to the darkness of night. Not a problem, unless there is NO light.

Drive it and enjoy it. John! :-)

1. I can attest to this. Mine was a stickier than I would have liked at first, but after a few thousand miles it improved. After 10k, it was amazing. It even got better again after 13k.

2. Typically a larger turbo will cause more lag than a smaller one. The 225 has the larger turbo therefore exhibits more lag off the line.

3. No Comment

4. Do you have your lights on? I'm not sure if this is the case but in most cars when you turn the lights on the car thinks it is nice and dims the interior somewhat. I've never noticed if the TT has this 'feature.'
