Anyone wondering about shocks and springs read on (long)
So I'm still sitting on the fence regarding chip+exhaust etc. Mainly coz I really want to save up for the HPA conversion ($30-$33k for what I want). However the new house comes first (only fair).
So today I decided to leave work a little early in search of Malibu Lake. Well things were going very well on Mullholand Hwy but I missed one of the turns and ended up right in the canyons. Still this wasn't a problem as the trip was two fold, I wanted to find the lake but also test the new suspension set up (lowered with Bilsteins and Eibach springs)
Well what can I say - awesome. I wasn't even pushing hard as it was 5pm'sh and I don't have the V1 yet! This car is so different now with the new suspension, it just flows through the corners with so much ease, it's so responsive it's unreal. I knew the set up would be good (based on Formula1jr's driving) but WoW - didn't expect this.
I went through a multitude of different corners (long and fast - short and very very tight) the Roadster took them all with the greatest of ease. Only when my fear of heights with the huge drops kicked in did I even have to back off.
I ended up as far as Oxnard and returned home to the Valley via Malibu Canyon (another great run even in traffic). I also learnt that I am going to have no problems living with a 30min commute from the beach area. The temp was over 22degrees cooler in Malibu than the valley - 72 vrs 98!!
I must admit the extra punch from chip+exhaust etc would be welcome on the longer straights but we'll see. For anyone considering suspension upgrade the advice I can give on 1st hand experience is DO IT!. You will notice a vast improvement and will end up with a car that should have been this way from the start.
Sorry for long message but WoW - what a drive!!

Mike did the install (local in the Valley). The install was top notch. The very place for an **** car cleaning freak like me to go and take the car - outstanding service and treatment.
After the advice of a friend I'm going to wait like 1-2k miles and then get the alingment done. They got their done straight away but after it settled in, it needed it again.
If you want Mike's details let me know
Bringing Audi to Life for Audi Fans
I kept my speed up on the way down so I lost the truck and passed a few cars as well.
Next time we'll beep or something. Hey, maybe we can get very subtle SCVTT / AudiWorld forum stickers made up so we can tell who's in the group
Till next time
ps Can't believe that truck was trying it on - good fun though
