Default Engine heat question

I just picked up my new 225 Coupe and had a
few questions about the engine thermostat.
Is it normal for it to sit at about the 12 oclock
position and go up to say around 2 oclock and go back down to the 12 oclock? Mine seems to be going
back and forth like that randomly and was not sure
if thats just the way the engine is. Anyone have any insight?

My 180 TTR does that. I *think* it's normal.

Default I used to never see my temp guage vary a fraction from the 12 o'clock position once

warmed up. Recently (perhaps I did not notice it before), I noticed that when dead stopped in traffic, it will creep up about an 1/8 of an inch beyone top dead center.

Default My 225QC is always at 12:00...

but I know that Rob Davis (squalo555?), was asking me the same sort of question a few weeks back at the Colorado Audi gathering. I think his was doing something similar in stop and go driving. Had something to do with the AC being on or off as well.

Default Yeah, that's what I see (more)

And when that happens either it quicklty goes back

to normal when I start off again, or the fan comes on

and cools it back down.
