Electrical question
How can I test to see if the power is being delivered to the console? I have a multimeter that I borrowed from a friend, just not sure exactly how to test it?
Any suggestions from the more electronicly inclined would be appreciated.
place the black probe on the wire carrying ground (GND)
place the red probe on the wire carrying +12 (Batt+)
The voltmeter should read out 12VDC +/- a couple of volts (cars can put their electricals at +14VDC when running, and +10VDC if not).
If you're not getting voltage, I'd go to the continuity mode (ohms) and double check your db25 loopback to make sure that there is 0ohms (looks like a greek omega sign) between the pins you jumpered for the Batt+ and GND.....if that checks out ok, then check the db25 in the rear of the car to see if there's 12vdc between the db25 pins.
If you're in Denver you could stop by

Good luck,
