Default OEM phone handle installation ?

Hello all-

I was wondering if someone out there that had installed the OEM phone holder (the aluminum one that goes in the center console - see pic) could lend some advice on how to do it? The best I can figure is that the front passenger seat has to come out. Can anyone give me an idea how to do this?

Default I've installed the bracket twice .....

and removed it once

The seat does not have to be removed.

Place the seat in the low position and as far back as it will go.

You also need a small ratchet wrench (Sears)
to tighten the star head bolt.

You will have to start the bolts by hand then get the wrench in between the seat but you
can push the bolster toward the passenger door also.

By playing with the seat position you can readily gain access to each of the bolts securing the bracket.

regards

Kevin

Default A trick I found is to remove the

little yellow plastic 'nuts' from inside the tunnel. Do this carefully, b/c you'll cry if you drop one inside the tunnel. Then, thread the supplied bolts into the nuts back & forth a couple of times while they're out so that you're not trying to accomplish two things while they're in place.

Another hint is to place newspaper or other similar materials under the area you're working on above the seat runners so that when you inevitably drop a bolt, you won't waste 20 minutes trying to get it out.

Lastly, I used a special right-angle bit driver available from Sears. The depth is about 1.25" including the bit. (Actually, this tool has come in handy many times over the years. If you use a tool like this, put something protective between the tool and the seat leather.

Ok, looks good there.

Is the bracket available from dealer's part shops?
