I don't know, you sure? It's an air pump. I think it's likely part of U.S. emissions.

Default The LDP is equipped on all cars made MY '96 and later(all OBD II)...

All it does is pressurize the fuel tank and related hoses, evap recovery system, etc. Very low pressure(maybe 2-4psi), then the pump shuts off and the pressure is held for a period of 30 seconds, I believe, to test for a pressure drop.

This is why, when a person leaves the fuel cap off of any 96 or later car, the MIL(check engine light) comes on.

Default Yeah sure...now you chime in! Didn't you know this kept me up last night?!

j/k! Thanks for the in depth technical on this, now I know what it is, AND how it operates.

Now, do you know for sure the pictured part is in fact the LDP? (I don't have a doubt it is, but we have two answers in this post)

Default Hell....you could have just called me....everyone else does ;-)

It's definitely the LDP.....the afterrun coolant pump is up front somewhere next to the right intercooler.

Default This is the afterrun coolant pump, right? (located above pass. side radiator fan)

Tee coming off upper radiator hose to it, runs for 10 minutes after key turned off.
