Default I finally got the infamous "Lock/Light Bug" fixed today by my dealer.

Sunset Imports in Beaverton Oregon fixed the bug at long last by changing out the central locking control module. I had them look into the problem six weeks ago while I was in for an oil change. At that time I brought along a printout from the FAQ and this forum explaining that the fix was to address a bad or missing ground to the module. But the dealership chose to fix it with their own method which was to replace the module. I can't complain about the results. The bug is dead, and every function associated with the lock light module still works as it did before. What I mean is the interior motion sensor still works OK like before. The new module did not endow the car with the Immobilizer feature, though I would not have complained if it had. I forget to test to see if the doors lock automatically at 5mph with the new module, but I don't really care either way.

I'm happy to have interior lights that are obedient finally!

Default The doors won't lock unless it is programmed (should be 5mph now-was 15mph)

and it should re-lock at 5mph if unlocked (nice new feature)

I do not know if it is coincidence, but our alarm has not falsed since it was replaced. It was always going off before. Not a peep since.

Plus one of our remotes would not sync up with the car (new module) and had to be replaced.

Lights are behaving well too.

This issue they seemed to have gotten right.

Default Thanks

It sounds like if I ever decide to get the 5mph locking I'll have to get them to program it or use a VAG-COM. I did test all my keys when I got home, but the dealer wisely advised to bring all of the keys to the service visit so they could reprogram them to the new module.

I'm pretty happy now. Every little bug with our TTR has been remedied over time. We had two seat heater buttons replaced, eventually a DV replaced, and now the central locking module.
