Default My Continuing Lock/Light Saga ...

TT was in for it's 1 year maint. Part of the To Do list was to resolve the Lock/Light problem.

Dealer supposedly phoned the Techline, which stated that to fix the Lock/Light via a ground wire would disable the door auto-open in an accident.

So they didn't do anything.

Anyone heard of this?

Default If your problem is the classic light problem (lights staying on) then it is the module.we had it

replaced and it has been flawless for months now.

Default That's BS, and even if it weren't, you could pull the door handle twice.

If the interior door handle isn't working, you're stuck anyway.

Ask your dealer how the "auto unlock in case of an accident" function can possibly work when the door unlock button doesn't?

Finally, find a dealer who actually wants to fix the problem rather than have to spend time digging down to the central locking module to add a ground, a task Audi probably pays very poorly for...

Default Must have added the ground when they replaced the module...

The lock/light bug <b>is</b> a poor/missing ground and has nothing to do with the locking module itself. If replacing your module fixed the problem, it must have been regrounded at the same time...

Default Don't Feel Bad

I've been to 2 dealers 3 times and they can't fix the problem.

At the end of my last visit, now my climate control won't work right (a/c never seems to shut off).

Also, my dealer would not put in synthetic oil unless I bring the oil with me and acknowledge that Audi doesn't want you to use it.

Default Do you know where the module is located and what needs to be grounded?

You could post the fix on the forum

Default No proof, but I agree with BillK. The problem is...

My dealership told me that there is no way to know whether the warehouse is sending in an old or new locking module until it gets installed.

The new module does relock doors at 5mph when one is opened. Very nice function.

I have yet to see the light-staying-on problem since they put in the most recent module.

How did Leith treat me?

I said the temp gauge was sticking in the morning... they replaced it no problem.
I said the light problem was still there... they replaced the module again no problem.

That's pretty good... they replaced parts on two intermittent problems without witnessing the problems. I was pretty happy.
