Back from NAIAS - ALMS TT

Unfortunately just one press day for me -- too much other stuff to do. Audi had their press conference yesterday, although there was nothing much new.

Let me just say that I really dig the Misano Red ALMS Edition TT. There was an Amulet Red A4 on the show floor near by and my oh my can you tell the difference (and I do like Amulet too). The Misano Red is a little more orange. Two thumbs up from me. I was sorry they didn't have a silver one with the red interior though...

Of course as you all know this is just the N. American version of the S-Line TT. They even gave us the same press pictures!

Thanks, Jason. Still thinking it will have

the suspension changes as every article I find on Nexis/Lexis says that it is the same car worldwide.

Am with you, if I lived in a year round sunny local, I'd have gone with the Misano.

Well the press release doesn't mention it...

And that could mean that they <i>aren't</i> lowering it for some reason. But I don't know the true answer. I do know who to ask at AoA. I will do that and report back to you.

The costs and standard vrs options. There is a big "who ha" going on @ the UK TT forum as Audi have now said that all TTs (225s) will come with the suspension and the 18s wheels at no charge.

The costs for having the special leather and paint (misano red and avus silver) have also been greatly reduced.

They are currently giving up to £1500 back to UK S-Line buyers as they cars are, well, no longer that special.

Something to think about

"The TT Coupé will be marketed worldwide from September with the exclusive "S line" sports package by quattro GmbH - albeit only for a limited period, probably until the end of the year. This high-quality package will only be offered for the TT Coupé 1.8 T with 165 kW (225bhp) engine. It includes sports suspension, 18﷓inch cast alloy wheels, leather seats, the choice between two new exterior colours, aluminium gear-lever **** and headlight trims in the colour Titanium. TT Coupé models fitted with this equipment package will also bear the emblem 'S line'."
