Default Anyone that has removed the trim around the door sills, driver or pass...

Do you have any tips or tricks? It looks pretty snug in there compared to past cars and I am trying to avoid being a Gorilla and forcing them to come out.

I had 8 guage wire run by a stereo shop previously but I am replacing it with 4 gauge wire and I need to pull the seals from around the doors etc.

Anyone?

Default If so, you'll need to remove the kick panel and the rear side

panels first if your TTR is anything like the coupe. Anyone have a Bentley manual for a TTR?

up towards the sky...at least thats what the pic looks like.

Default That's what I meant by "rear side panel." You'll also have to

remove the kick panel (down by your feet) if you want to remove the sill piece--the sill piece is anchored underneath it (see pic).

Default The sill's spring clips are actually straight up & down. The tough

part is not breaking one of them since you'll be pulling very hard on the piece and BAM, it'll pop off. I broke one of the clip's plastic mounting pieces on my passenger sill panel--the new sill piece was ~$45. I probably didn't need to replace it, but it had to be perfect! :-)

The kick panels do require an upward motion (smooth & firm pressure--no tugging) to release the spring clips. You'll need to unscrew the hood release lever assembly first on the driver's side, of course.

By the way, I determined that it made more sense to run power up the driver's side, and signal down the passenger side. If you go to my TT Audio side, you'll see pics of this under the "Misc." tab.
