Default Racing Seat

Can anyone advise me on installing a racing seat in a TT? If possible, I'd like to be able to swap the stock and racing seats in and out as desired.

Default The only practical way to accomplish the swaps w/b to use stock seat rails...

and fit to racing seat. I expect some fabrication of an interface between racing seat and rails will be necessary but by no means complex.

Sounds like a good project for track events.

I've a pair of Sparco EVO in my TT. Since sparco did not have correct bracket for TT yet, I have to buy a universal silder and sub frame to fit. But befofe all that. You have to make a custom bracket to put every on top. As u see on the 3rd pic, the silver square is the custom I talk about. Just use the factory 4 bolt to fit the custom, other than that all the silder and bracket will be on top of it. If you want to switch back to factory seats, just 4 bolt, you can take off the racing seat and put the factory back.

Hope this help!!

Default Awesome.. Couple of questions..

I am thinking about getting these seats but was wondering how big of a person they can hold and how comfortable they are on long trips.. Is it a real pain to get out/ in of?? I am 6' 2" and weigh about 200lbs.. I would consider myself of a large build.. I was thinking about getting either the EVO 2s or maybe Cobra Suzuki GTs or checking out momo any suggestions??.. Thanks

John

Default are you in LA? you can try my seat.......

EVO2 is the largest seat in Spaco. I am about 5' 11" and 210......I am a big guy,too..My body is wide..I tried Cobra Suzuki GT before, it is kind loose but really comfort. But I go for EVO 2 is because it is a little tie, but it support me alot, especially after a while it loose alittle, become perfect for me.
but the problem is they don't make the slider for TT! you have to modify your own!!

http://www.sparcousa.com/sizechart_seat.htm</a

Default some things to consider

its usually quite difficult to effectively use stock seatbelts with any true race seat. you need saftey harness to remain safe. But using harnesses with rigid seats and No roll bar is a big safety hazzard because the harnesses do not allow you to slum forward at the shoulders in the event of a roll over and you will most like have your neck snapped. so you really want a bar with them...

this is not the case with the Sport seats that typically recline and have higher bolsters than stock but not high rigid ones like a true race seat. with these you can use your OE seatbelts and be happy. Recaro SRDs come to mind...

stay safe, hate to loose you in such a silly way....

If I may ask another naive question: how do you attach the 5 point harness? Is there some way to use the existing seat belt attachment points, or do you have to drill new holes and bolt them to the frame?

Thanks again.
