2001 TT Bose radio problems...
Please give me some ideas: the radio has gone kaput on my fiancee's 2001TT. Its the upgraded Bose version, with the CD changer in the boot. There is no display, no sound, nothing. There is a cassette in the tape player, although there is no motor movement - nothing. Press the button to run it on/off, nothing happens. It won't eject either.
This has happened several times in the time she has owned the car, and it is very aggravating. I have taken the fuse panel cover off, and checked the fuses that control the radio - I believe there are two, I cannot remember exactly which ones though. I checked them with a multimeter and they are both in good working order. I have also 'reset' the door locks with the key and that that did not help any either.
The dealership keeps on saying that 'the cables under the seat' keep comming apart and that is the problem. Well I find that hard to believe. A crummy import yes, but not from a $40k German wundercar.
Does anyone have any ideas? One day the warranty will run out, and this will cost big $$ to fix. Anyone have any suggestions?
Regards,
joe
