70 in a 50 zone.....$100.....problem is the violation was on Feb. 26 and I just received the notice!! I blow through there every day going about 80 on my way to work!! Let's see, there's been about 13 workdays since then x $100 = ??? ...well at least there are no points otherwise I'd be walking!!

 

Do you have a radar detector? does it ever go off where the camera is?

Soon, since they know you speed in the area every day, they'll make it more convenient for you by debiting your accounts automatically, or providing you with affordable installment options. This isn't about speeding, its about takeing your money. I wouldn't pay it.

Do a search for Arizona. We have those cameras, yet there are easy ways to get around paying them. They never actually stopped you and ID checked you, and they have the burden of proof. I would make them prove it's you, and then when they can't, the judge will dismiss.

If the name of the registered owner does not match the description in the pictire i.e., registered to a Mark and a Female is driving, those tickets will ALWAYS be written off.

I did this in AZ when they first used mobile van's... got out of 3 tickets!

They know that they can't prove you were driving the car which is why you don't get points and figured they would instead ticket the car, but since the car can't pay the ticket the only solution is to ticket the owner of the car who is responsible (but is he?) for the property...
I don't think the owner of the car is responsible for his/her car speeding because if that were the case, then why isn't the owner of the vehicle ticketed along with the driver anytime there is a violation? So whats their reason for giving you the ticket?? Because you ALLOWED the car to break the law or because they think YOU broke the law? Well, we all know you need solid evidence for a conviction and thinking that someone might have done something wrong just doesn't cut it..

Another thing to think about: Lets say I was driving your car and I get pulled over for doing 100 in a 50, now why doesn't that same case (the owner is responsible for the the manner in which the car is driven) apply here? My guess, they know its bull****, but figure people will pay the fine b.c they think its a good deal (at least im not getting points).. I think that argument elimates the case in which you are responsible for your car breaking the law..

Now is this all justifiable? I don't think so, but they do.. Now if this was clearly justifiable, then why aren't more towns/counties/states using it?? You know how much money they could make with one of these things? With one of these you no longer have to pay some guy to sit in his car with a little radar gun waiting for someone to come along, you can just setup a machine and wait for the money to roll in..

I think Id get a lawyer, call up every single radio station/news station/newspaper and notify them of the upcoming case against the electronic cop... Get some publicity and hopefully get the case thrown out.. Let everyone know that using devices like this is not allowable and that they must be done away with!!!
