Rear axle alignment on TT fwd...
Has anyone checked the so called 'Thrust Line' in fwd TT's (and/or A4, Passatt,Jetta, Golf, etc.) with the semi rigid rear axle? mine was 30 minutes off to the left after a minor collision with a Honda Civic that bumped its front fascia in the 'rear' of the wheel. Nobody at Audi accepted that you can center the overall toe of the car, even with printed data from the factory manual at hand. The car felt heavy, clumsy, and was unstable at high speed curves (120-140 mph). After recentering the axle, at a non Audi shop, and having a zero deviation Thrust Line, the stability is just amazing, the steering has the perfect weight and I'm finally enjoying those 17x8.5 CH's and 235/45's and H&R spacers. Why is this basic alignment spec. so often overlooked? when for some serious people you cannot align a chassis if the Thrust Line is right., Any comments...
