Default Bonnet Scoops - can this be done, should it be done?

just curious, did a search, couldn't really find anything. Don't like the SGI hood (ugly) but like the idea of perhaps putting in a scoop (like the scooby one) right above where the turbo is to get rid of some of the heat.

TIA

Default agreed, perhaps slants (like SGI) but man, too much heat :(

I agree the shape etc of the TT doesn't really lend to scoops / vents but you have to agree we get some crazy heat under there. Chip and then there's even more which is not a good thing.

Perhaps when I've got a an FMIC and my "custom secret" mod done I won't have to worry much more

Default Steve, forget where I heard it at, but that location of the hood is a low preasure location...

you could perforate that hood with a huge hole an would not see any significant air movement... (the original discussion was dealing with forced intake and the location of the "snorkles" on muscle cars...)

Default Thanks Ted

I'm working on a "custom secret" mod to take care of the CAI and the FMIC bits but I was just trying to explore ways of getting the heat OUT as oppose to colder air in.

I'm pretty sure the mod will take care of the cold air in. If this works well enough then perhaps they'll be no need to worry about the heat.
