Default lug nuts

Got ambitious and took the wheels off the TTR yesterday to clean up the insides. Are you supposed to put anything on the lug nuts?
A little oil OK?

Default Nope, do not use oil on the lug nuts

however, you might use some anti-seize compound. But as in most things, there is a debate over this practice as well.

I haven't used it and it has been fine for me.

I use Bostik "Anti Seize". BTW they're bolts, not nuts.

Default Here's what Tirerack says on anti-seize ...

NOTE: We suggest removing the wheel and applying a thin coating of "antiseize" around the axle hubs to help prevent rust and permit easier removal when it's time to rotate your tires. Do not apply "antiseize" to the lug hardware or studs

Default Never use anti sieze on your lug bolts, its a liquid..liquid doesnt compress,

if you use it on your lug bolts your wheels wont be torqued to the proper spec, which could result in either a wheel coming loose or a wheel bolt snappin due to to much torque being applied to it. A proper wheel bolt is meant to stretch slightly when properly torqued, the strectch helps to keep it in place, the bolts when loosened are suppose to return to their normal length, if you add anti sieze either nickel or copper based stuff you will stop the bolt from stretching due to the compression of the the compound on the threads, also because torque apllied is mainly used up in frictional energy by turning the bolt which now has a lower coeffiecint of friction due to the anti sieze it will be almost impossible to get the right torque value applied to the bolt....dont do it..as to alittle bit around the hub or on the rings if youve got hubcentric, its not such a bad idea..
