Does disconnecting the battery reset the ECU?

You will need to enter security code to reactivate radio ...
The security code is a 4 digit number. The activation procedure is explained in the radio manual, available online in this forum and in many other places on the web ... do an AudiWorld forum search or even a Goggle search if you don't have your manual, or see the link below. Mr. Bipes probably also has this on his site!
Couple of things you should know ... if you enter in the wrong code twice, you'll need to let your radio reset itself by keeping the key in the ignition for an hour set to where the accessories are turned on and the radio also should be on. It will do no good to keep reentering the same wrong number so plan to go see the dealer if you don't have the code. Note that the code is printed on a tear out card in the radio manual and it is also printed about the 3rd line down on any Audi dealer maintenance receipt that you have. If by some reason that your radio was swapped out, you will notice a revised code on your Audi service receipt. If your code is not available from any of these sources, Audi will need to pull the HU and obtain the serial number to go online and find out the code.
