off topic coz it is getting desperate
Strange sound mostly left side of recently acquired 996 (certified preowned) with 6000 miles currently. Sound is metallic vs. wind, starting at speeds above 15 mph. It disappears as speed falls below 15 mph. When another vehicle is parallel to mine, the sound seems louder perhaps echoed and amplified by the presence of the other vehicle. Pitch does not change, intensity does vary with speed. At higher speed, engine sound seems to dampen it but it can still be heard. No warning lights on, no problems with braking. Sound present when driving and putting gear at neutral. Sound not present when idling or at a standstill. I'm taking it to dealer for diagnosis and hopefully cure. Sound seemed to occur a few days after it was serviced for maintenance. Any thoughts and concerns about safety?
