VAG-COM QUESTION

Does anyone know how to set the service intervals to 5k instead of 10k.

I just turn them off using this procedure:

To reset the Service Reminders using VAG-COM:

Select Control Module 17 - Instruments, then Adaptation - 10, Channel 02 - set to 0 to reset.

Pretty sure it is, but I ran out of time before i got done playing around. I haven't got back to it.

Depends on instrument cluster rev...

Not possible on my '02 after it is initialized. It is possible on a cluster replacement if you do it as part of the coding for the odometer. You only get one try.

The alogorithm is based on time and distance, so there are two settings. One is days and the other 100's of KM. If you don't drive a lot, the service reminder will come on after one year (default), otherwise the 10K miles.
