More on my coil pack trouble, sort of funny..................

The dealer called, not my usual dealer, said one of the coil packs was cracked and Audi only covers defective parts. WHAT!! They mentioned I had several mods, yea right. So I told him I just had one cracked and one weak coil pack replaced two months ago and told him I know these are a problem from other owners. He said he would check with the manager, now even if they replace the one cracked under warranty I will still have that one original, my new name may be "fnaudidealer" I'll find out Monday what they are going to do.

Audi only covers defective parts...

Are they trying to claim that a cracked one isn't defective?

I think he is saying I cracked it, yea sounds defective to me.

Lets just say I turned it over to the wrong dealer, my usual dealer.......

replaced them without question, gave me a nice loaner and washed the TT. Now that I know the failure, you're right, I should be doing these myself.

You've got an 02, right? Are the coilpaks that you are seeing fail the Hitachi ones?

I was under the impression that those dont fail often. I haven't seen any problem with mine yet and I'm at 57K now. I do have a spare set just in case though. It took 3 weeks for them to get here, but they were only about $20 apiece.
