Default carpet wear ...

has anyone experienced a problem with carpet wear on the inside edge against the dead pedal?

After 4+ years of daily driving I have a small hole worn in the carpet in this location.

Probably due to my SideShow Bob shoes when I engage the clutch.
I found the carpet on my 02 to be of first rate quality ... and this is my only wear spot on the interior of the vehichle!

Any suggestions for repair?

Thanks...

Brian

Default We are talking ...

a small hole on the inside edge of the dead pedal. Not visible or on the floor pan.

Just wondered if anyone had a similar wear point?

Any repair kits available??

Thanks Steve.

No similar wear point for me.

Needle and thread might be one repair option.

Another might be tape applied to back side of carpet.

I would doubt that a repair kit would be made specifically for a unique carpet wear small hole next to a MK I TT dead pedal.

Default Thanks for the... help

just thought there might be a carpet repair kit someone has tried, and can recommend.

Not specifically for a small hole next to a TT dead pedal! : )

Default I wonder how house carpet repairs would work..

Basically find a donor carpet and cut a section to fit the damaged area.. cut out the damaged area and use carpet tape to tape in the new piece. If the new piece is cut on a champfer or a litter larger it will hide all seams.

At least that is how I repaired my home carpet.

In his case he would not need to patch in because the hole is so small. He should be able simply to tape from the back side.

Then if the TTschwing suggestion of getting good driving shoes is employed, the area should not be over-stressed, so the tape repair might hold O.K.
