My leather treatment steps
Day 1:
I like to pick a fairly warm day so that I can park the car outside with the windows up. The heat opens the pores of the leather and allows for deeper penetration of the leather care products.
After an hour or so depending upon temperature, I begin by applying the Griot's Leather Rejuvenator usually with a 100% cotton towel on most areas. There are one or two spots that I like to cover by massaging the ointment in with my bare hand instead. Don't ask me why, I just like to make sure that the areas in question are taken care of and not just rubbed with a towel. After all surfaces are covered and I've let it set for a while I use a separate towel to buff the seats.
After I've finished, I pretty much do it all over again using Griot's Leather Care). I personally love the smell of the interior when these first two steps have been completed.
Day 2:
The first two of steps usually take a couple of hours to do and I don't mind telling you that for an out of shape fat man who's been on the plus side of an eighth of ton for a few years now, I'm pretty beat. That's why I save the Final Leather Sealant(link below) for the second day. This stuff is pretty inexpensive and can be found at most convenience stores. You can use it as you see fit but I've found it best for an IDIOT such as myself to use while accelerating up an on ramp to the interstate. Just make sure, for the sake of complete coverage that you shake vigorously before you remove the cap.
