Had windshield replaced - Defective?
Had my windshield replaced due to a crack in original. State Farm sent Safe-Lite Auto Glass.
Hate new windshield. Distorts images on far left and far right. Has a ripple effect. Have since been told I should have requested 'factory glass'. Anyone else ever have a windshield that distorts images?
Plan to call Safe-Lite on Monday and have them replace w/ factory glass.

I had mine replaced with a factory one, to be honest , it was really cheap. I paid 260$ CDN for a brand new one in the box with all factory rubbersattached to it.
You can also verify if they are seating it properly. There is 3 little rubbers that goes on the body and make sure the new windshield is not seated too high or too deep. There is also 5 or 7, I do no recall of the same kind of rubber , but they are a little smaller, they are going at equal distance in the bottom of the windshield, they stick to the body and help in the alignement of the new windshield.
With all these rubbers, you simply make sure the rubber around the windshieldis nicely fitted and look like factory.
I did mine this way and I am more than satisfied with the result. If you want, I will look for the PN and let you know.

Exact same thing happened to me. I noticed it right away and
drove right back to the installer. To make a long story short they tried to replace an OEM windshield that they installed a month ago (but craked) with a POS made by Pilkington which had waves throughout the entire windshield. They acknowledged the distortion and replaced the glass. I made sure they replaced it with Sekurit (OEM) glass.
I don't know the # but Sekurit glass is what you want to look for. Good Luck.

Had it replaced for the 2nd time on Friday, STILL DEFECTIVE!
Supposedly this time they replaced it with OEM 'Factory' glass, but now I notice a rippley distortion right in front of my face. I am so annoyed. State Farm is sending Safe-Lite auto glass each time. This is going to be my 3rd windshield replacement in 3 weeks. I'm getting frustrated, to say the least!
