water leaking into cars boot
over the past few weeks a have noticed that everytime i open the rear boot lid i have water all over the inside of the boot lid, it doesnt look like its leaking from one spots as the whole of the inside is wet, im thinking it is rain water as it has been raining quite abit here in england alot recently. and im talking alot of water it is dripping down onto the boot floor , but i cant figure where this water is coming from. that water is inside the frame of the boot lid on the inside of the other skin. i dont think its the actual rubber surround causeits actually below the boot lid.
can anyone advise where the leak can be coming from
The lid gasket/seal is low on the possible culprit list, even if the most obvious to check. Also check the grommet where your license light wires exit the body on the lefthand side looking forward, midway up the fender/wing edge. If that's cracked or dried out it's a straight leak into the rear body.
If you got water into the boot area, it would likely sweat onto the inside of the lid. Take the mat out and see what's wet, where.
Good luck!
