a5 water leaking in boot
or days i noticed a smell for a few seconds when i opened the bootlid on my a5 convertible.
i lifted the carpet, nothing where the spare wheel go's......removed the wheel....bone dry.
then i opened the compartment on drivers side......where the fuse boxes are and a big fat wiring loom.........the loom was wet, however the actual fuses and electrical items are dry,no sign of water on top of themi discovered some water sitting there,so i removed the rubber bung/grommet......water ran out,and i got a chamois and dried it.
check the other side....wet but no water there, but it feels wet and still damp.
i pouted water onto the rear lights .....nothing going in,tried both sides.
and around the bootlid with the boot open.....around the hinges/boot seal i mean.....nothing,any ideas?

Bumping this because I have the same thing happen after a hard rain. I've pulled the taillights to check the seals and they appear fine. The trunk vents are bone dry after the rain and there are no discernible wet streaks from above that section of metal. I've sat in the trunk with the amp and fuse box access doors (inside trunk) open while a friend sprayed a garden hose all over the roof, trunk, rear quarter panels, and bumper and not a drop came in. Please let me know if you get any answers on this!

In your case, it might be coming in through the trunk vents (the small black plastic box with 8 small squares that's mounted on the side of the metal panel) because in your first and third pictures, the flap behind the squares looks wet. Did you have any pebbles or road debris sitting in the water inside? If so, its possible that the flap is stuck and the road/your tires is spraying crap up through the vents.

the rubber plug/grommet is here where you can see the hole.......PULL UP ON IT......i pushed down and it fell into the bumper never to be found again
i lifted roof halfway cleaned the rubber seal and plastic part ...anything that contacts the seal....and its never leaked again......i had little stone on passengerside too, flaps are closed...all good so far...

open the hood....halfway so that the rear shelf lifts up and clean that too,i used atoglym vinyl and rubber care, there is a rubber grommet inside the rear 1/4 panel, remove that and let water escapeleave boot open after if you can so all the wiring and fuse box can dry/air out.
ive read somewhere audi replaced some seals, and it never cured the issue,so dont bother wasting your money.
hopefully a clean is gud enough
