Paging A6_2.7T_owner. When your TT engine/tranny blew, do you know which broke first?
Did they open up the tranny and see any blown gears?
Reason I ask is a relative's TT simply just broke as they were driving on city streets. It seems the reverse gear decided to engage itself while on 3rd gear and it took the clutch with it. They mentioned that AoA's initial assessment is driver's fault.

The car has 52K miles and 2k miles out of any warranty coverage. The car is stock and the owners drive their TT like it's Sunday, at least that's the kind of drivers they are. How it broke is really odd and my feeling is something wiggled loose enough for the reverse gear to make contact with another gear spinning on the forward direction.
The engine is fine though, but the clutch pressure plate shattered when the tranny went bang.
