Brakes
I was at the dealer today and they said I need new front pads and rotors. I have a 2001 Roadster which I bought a year ago, Certified. Shouldn't the brakes have been redone then? The dealer wants $850 for front pads and rotors, whaddaya think!

At the time of inspections the brakes were probably ok. It's an item that wears>>
obliviously. That's a steep price quote.
You can buy rotors and pads for well under $300. It may take you a saturday morning to put them in yourself(2-3 hours if you are really taking your time). Brakes are easy to replace.

Just had the A6 in for service 2 wks ago B4 th warranty ends, Audi said the brakes are good-BS.
Today, I looked at them with the wheels off, pads are less than 1/8" thk, and the rotors have a big ridge on them, pedal pressure is poor.
Wife sez, "yea, they've been acting funny"
Wadda ya gonna do? I don't drive the car.
I ordered Hawk Cers. and Brembo rotors today.
I'll do it my self, for a lot less than $800.

No. I tried to set one up in 2001 but there was no interest.
Desert Audi was no help either. They would not let me use any of their TT customer info. I offered to write an announcement, put it in a stamped envelope, so all they had to do was put on address labels but they refused.
Fact is, even the SoCal folks have trouble getting more than a few folks to events and they have far more TTs there than here.
