wacky clicking sound? WTF

wacky clicking sound? WTF
hey fellow TTers!!
maybe one of you gurus can help me out??
you know when you hit the turn signal and it blinks on/off, and you hear the clicking noise that goes with the blinking?
well all of a sudden (since two days ago) i hear that same clicking noise coming out of the dashboard randomly (not when the turn signal is on).
the signal works 100% as it should, and this sound just comes out on its own in a rapid succession at completely random moments. the lights dont blink on their own, its only the sound itself.
have any of you experienced this before? its one of those things that is so minor its almost not worth looking into, but that noise is gonna drive me nuts. any ideas out there in AWland??

Can someone confirm Signal Stalk or Flasher Relay
Seems from my reading that when the Flasher Relay goes you get funky flashers lighting up or they dont work at all.
Then when the signal stalk goes everything works fine except you get some crazy clicking.
Seems to me his clicking would be a stalk but I don't know and I want to find out because I have the same thing.
