bad cluster...?

so i thought that i was overheating the last couple weeks. the temp gauge would be right above 1 tick hot of center. i would pull over to see if the fans were running, but they weren't. did some research on the forums and found the HVAC engine temp read and it never reaches 100 deg C although me temp gauge is high. is the HVAC more reliable then the temp gauge? if so am i starting to see symptoms of a bad cluster? i do have lost pixels on the center display. i also notice that with the car off, the temp gauge is not fully to the cold side, almost 1 tick mark over.

you think that it would be safe to assume that...

the HVAC temp is more reliable then the temp gauge?

how would i go about fixing the gauge...?

would i need to replace the whole cluster? either way, i would have to pull the cluster so...? hum

Replace the cluster w/new one or have it repaired by somebody like BBA ...>>

Try resetting fuses first.

Every time I have a problem with my instrument cluster I pull and replace fuses 11 and 15. This resets the computer. But, be aware that you will lose your clock setting and it will reset the trip meter. Mine's a 2000 TT. I don't know what year yours is or if the fuses are the same.
