Default OSR Telson Instructions

Just received my OSR Telson today (with no instructions). I've gone through prior threads and have gathered:

1. Most don't like the recommended adhesive - use something like 3M windshield adhesive or 3M5200.

2. Put adhesive on in strips on the "wing"

3. Apply to stock spoiler, and either hold (time depends on adhesive) or painters tape and let set up overnight.

Any other tips of suggestions?

As a final question - how good have you found the fit between the Telson and the stock spoiler. I've just placed it on (not glued) and it seems like I have a bit of a gap no matter how I shift it - Is this normal or did I get a bad one?

Thanks for any advise or input.

Default I originally used the the osir adhesive but it didn't hold up...year later it became loose. So

about 2 weeks ago I reapplied it using 3m 5200 adhesive...works so far. There are holes on both sides of the telson, and I think you're not supposed to enclose them with the adhesive...something to do with expansion in hot and cold weather maybe. My telson bowed out slightly in the middle when test fitting it...but when I applied little presure to the bowed area, it fit perfectly. It's an easy install...just apply the adhesive and tape it up with blue painters tape.

Default I just installed this with the OSIR adhesive and it was a PITA ....

Mine bowed a bit in the middle and that poses the biggest problem. YOu might wind up a with a gap where there isn't enough adhesive to bond it properly. If I were to do it again I would do the following:

I would tape off the top of both the telson and the spoiler with blue tape. I would put a good amount of adhesive in the middle, maybe a bit more that I needed. I would affix the spoiler and immediately remove any excess adhesive from the top and even out any adhesive in the space between the telson and spoiler. I would then remove any excees from underneath. Then tape it up to hold it in place. With the tape on top you can make sure you don't get the adhesive all over everything.

Default I've never had issues with the Osir adhesive but that's not saying there isn't better out there.

Mine's been on for 2 years now and still holding strong.
