Aftermarket Coolant System & Fuel Line Hose Kits
Forge Motorsports used to sell a kit with silicon replacement hoses for the entire coolant system. I called them yesterday and I was told that they stopped distributing it because they were having some "fitting" issues on the Golfs. I have done some pretty extensive research and it looks like no one else sells a similar kit. I see a really old post on this forum regarding replacement hoses but I was wondering if anyone has done this upgrade recently...any pointers?? Suppliers?? The OEM hoses are junk and I don't want to replace them with more OEM junk. I'm also looking to do the fuel lines (mine are corroded) are there any steel-braided kits or do I just need to go the custom route? Thanks!

Haven't seen much traffic on this subject. My April 2000 built Roadster hoses were very good
the last time I looked.
Heat is an issue with rubber parts under the hood. Check with Steve at the ModShack, he has a replacement firewall gasket that is around $20 that reduces underhood temps quite a bit.
Honestly, I'd look at Audi for that. My Dealer is frequently competative on cost and his parts are usually better than aftermarket.

It appears that one could replace all, or nearly all, of the cooling system hoses for less than $200
