Phatnoise won't detect as a CD drive anymore..
Didn't do anything recently, just stopped working. DMS detects without problem on my computer so I am guessing it is something with the Phatnoise unit itself.
Their website looks like it is dying a slow death.. what is the option here? I am guessing any warranty I had is long gone.. but damn, it seems like it should last just a tad longer than a few years.

Aside from the people who want to stick it to Apple and not buy a product that only works with iTunes, I can't really see the sense behind a $700 unit that you would then have to spend an additional $299 to still not have enough space as the largest of the newly released iPods. Maybe I'm wrong here.
But it seems as though the one with the largest amount of memory is not only cheaper but it plays videos too. Oh, and it's portable.

i have 2 phatnoise units - 1 in each car >>
and i have one 80GIG drive that i share between them. i wouldn't trade it for anything. the audible searching (voice-on-tap) is really a huge selling point. as well as the ability to put anything on the drive you want. no DRM crap.
