Default Questions about OEM roof rack

I just bought the OEM base carrier bars for my 2002 TT and have a few questions. My current configuration is a Thule 757 roof rack with a Thule Eschelon fork mount carrier.

Question 1: Does anyone have the instructions for installing the OEM base carrier bars? I received both bars, a wrench, two keys, five bolts, and one washer. Do I need to install washers with each bolt? Any other tips?

Question 2: Can I use the Eschelon carrier with the OEM carrier bars? I haven't removed the Thule bars yet, and it doesn't appear that the bike carrier will fit on the OEM bars.

Question 3: What other bike carriers are compatible with the OEM base carrier bars? (And which ones are the best?)

I would really appreciate any help and advice. Thank you.

Default I have the OEM instructions in a PDF I can email you

They are on my home computer though. I am travelling for the next week but can email them to you next weekend if you don't find them by them.

It is pretty straight forward though. You open the mounting point covers on the roof, set the bars on top of them, unlock the metal flaps on the bars, screw in the bolts (with a washer on each) and tighten -- 6 Nm I think (not too tight but good and snug).

I've used several different models of the Thule fork mount bike carriers. They all work slightly differently but I have been able to get them all to attach to the bars in one way or another. Basically they all need a t-shaped bolt that slides into the bar and then bolts up through the head of the carrier. I can take some pictures next weekend if you need to get some ideas.

Default Very easy and straight forward

You will need 1 bolt and one washer for each corner. Bars are marked as to where they go. Tighten with your tool to at least 6 and not over 9. Tool shows this when torqued properly. BE VERY CAREFUL WITH THE LOCKING COVERS... They are not as strong as the rest of the unit. They will break easily if you are ruff with them. Check with VW for bike carriers, they will match the rack perfect. The rubber lip on the front of it can come loose too so watch it and super glue it if you know you like it there. Be careful when opening the back hatch also or anything hanging over will go through the glass. This is the main reason this rack is no longer available. I can take a photo of the stuff I have here if you need any more info. You are gonna love it. It is much more money but I would do it again in a heartbeat...

what do the washers look like?
I received just one washer that's flat and one washer that has jagged spikes like chain saw blade.

They are all flat, small washers that fit around the bolt.
