fuel injector bung
While buttoning up the car after a day of maintenance (PCV system, thermostat, flush, and phenolic spacer) I was installing the injectors. The third one I heard a snap and thought that was too easy. The plastic bung fell apart. It was so dried up it was actually easy to get out. I'm using a pick tool to clean up the remnants but how do you reseat a new one?
Just in case I did buy one so at least I don't have to wait to get a replacement.

They just screw in....>>
19mm+ Hex. The Audi one on the left is $40 or so, the VW one on the right about $3. If you go with window number 2 you'll have to replace all 4 as the depth is slightly different as you can see....

Thanks Steve, got it. I was afraid it needed some special "Audi adhesive". Don't have a 19mm hex but I do have a 19mm back end of a screwdriver! Glad I ordered one and extra "o" rings.
Don't mind helping out the kids but I wish one would give me back a car I could use as a daily driver.
Every piece of plastic and rubber under the hood is falling apart. It's only June and the temp is 98.9 so I'm not surprised.

After 5-6 years, The heat cycles are killing these cars...>>
Vac hoses, plastics, wiring harnesses, PCV systems etc...
This is the first I've heard of Injector seats disintergrating though..Sounds like you got it covered!
