Newbie here some q's about the Mk1
Had a Stage 2+ B5 S4 and now have just purchased a FWD 180 2000 TT. I know the cars are pretty robust but are there any problems to watch out for? Car is stock and has 68K on it. Clutch, timing belt, and water pump are all recent. Any insight would be apreciated.
Welcome and post pics. My questions to you: is it silver, and has it had the control arms/rear spoiler recall?
I need to do my research but intend to do some small mods to improve the car. I plan to chip the car improve the suspension with springs/shocks and do an exhaust conversion to the 225 TT dual setup. What is the consencus on the best parts for a daily driven car that will see a lot of highway time and not see a track?
I remember in the B5 S4 world APR was well respected and did not push the turbos as hard as the GIAC software., and Bilsteins were the way to go for those that did not need the adjustability or cost of coilovers. Are there any suspension parts I should replace "while I'm in there"?

Strongly consider a VTDA and Steve Schwing's Stage 3 setup for a low cost improvement, but for closer to S4 power, you'll need APR's stage 3 setup, and some proximity to an APR distributor for issues that may come up.
Have had great luck with APR's chip in my car, with other good alternatives as well, Revo, etc.
Pure MS and shox.com have been good to deal with suppliers, though there are many of good ones.
I and many of us have a bilstein sport / eibach spring combo that's good for general use, even some track, but it's comfortable, not too low, and easy to set and forget. Some adjustable rear control arms or a KMAC kit will help to bring the car into proper alignment. You should also replace the front strut bearings and bushings (low cost) at the same time.
Yep, spend some time with the FAQ, and enjoy the car!
