If I am replacing ball joints and then getting an alignment done, should I torque the nuts to spec?

I believe the ball joints use the one-time use bolts. (The Bentley manual says to replace the hardware each time.) If they need to be loosened in order for the shop to adjust alignment, should I not tighten them down all the way? The alignment shop is about a mile from my house, so if I wrench them down tight but not completely to the torque specs, should I be OK to drive the car to the shop?

Not sure if those nuts are the loosen-tighten repeatedly kind.

Default I torqued mine, was surprised to see that they're supposed to be one-time use parts

I've had the control arms on and off a bunch of times and always just torque them to spec (55ft lb I think).

Default I believe it's replace every time you replace the joint >>

I'd torque them down to spec for the drive. It'd be bad if they came loose. Real bad probably.

If that's the case, why does the Bentley manual say "Use new nuts" when installing?

Default My new joints came with new nuts. I think thats all they mean >>

Not every time they are loosened. Just when you get a new joint.
