Default subframe bolts

ok i just replaced my clutch and flywheel and i'm putting the subframe back in. also how do you get the frame back up there? do i have to use a jack to raise it to reach the holes? and do u think i will need a alignment? does that subframe affect toe/camber?

Default A jack will work, and YES on alignment and Toe/Camber

The subframe locates the lower control arms, so all that stuff will be out of line when you drop/replace it...

thanks steve, about how much should i expect to pay for a 4wheel alignment. and its odd that the bentley doesnt say anything about the alignment being needed.

Default Dunno...Prices are all over the place...>>

I do my own. I believe there is a Bentley reference in there somewhere. The only way you don't is if you index the camber before you remove the subframe, then get it back to the same references when you put it back together..

It's not hard to do, but I don't think many techs take this extra step...

ok i found it in the bentley and it says that if i can get the orig bolts in thier orig bolt marks then i wont have to get an alignment, but i guess i'll have to see when i take it for a drive. all i have left to do is the subframe, main driveshaft, put exhaust back in, bleed clutch system and then it will be ready!!! i cant wait.

Default I assume you're going to do a full write-up on your clutch/flywheel repair and post it soon, right?

How was the work? Any previous clutch experience? Time to completion? etc..

I'll be heading down this road eventually.

TIA,
Trent

Default Steve, seen that pic, but how are you setting camber without the suspension loaded and settled?

i.e. without the wheels on the ground?

Default I'm not.....>

Just measuring the Camber at full droop and getting a reference value so I can get the subframe back to that same reference point...
