Default Those things...

are supposed to be torqued to 75 lb-ft plus 1/4 turn. You need serious leverage to do that, and there's no way they could work loose. There was some work done to your car at one time, and they weren't torqued properly.

Those are torque-to-yield bolts, and are only good for one time use. Replacements from the dealer, or your favorite genuine VW parts internet store.

Default I know that the subframe bolts are listed as one use but-------->

Mine have been out and back at least twice, wonder what the risk of breakage is? Someone------ Schwing????? has stated here that it did not seem imperative that they be replaced each time. Opinions??? Facts ???? TIA.

Default I have heard that torque-to-yield bolts typically have enough stretch in them to

be suitable for a few uses.... the bolts on my engine mounts were reused after my timing belt replacement at 57k miles... I now have about 100K on the TT and no problems. However, next timing belt replacement, I'll probably install new bolts.

I've been told this too by several people - I don't reuse em more than one additional time though
