find switched 12 volt wire

find switched 12 volt wire

I have the radio out of the car and I am looking for a ignition switched wire. I have only found powered wires, no ignition switched 12v. Please help me find it. i could use the cigarette lighter, but I can't get it disassembled to get to the wire.

If you are going to tap into that terminal, I'd suggest an inline fuse unless you like flaming Audis.

in-line fuse as *close* to the post as possible.

go right to the fuse box

Center section here is switched +12VDC

Do you think the 50 or so amp fuseable link for this circuit is not adequate? <g>

Of course, any add-on electrical accessory should include its own fuse, even if you tap off an already-fused circuit, such as the cigarette lighter (which is probably 10-15 amps).
