Chicago Audi MeetUp - April 29 - Not on Rush Street.

This is the same meeting we are trying to plan. Please read with open minds.

My name is CvTech, well not my real name but my online pseudonym. I was raised and born in Chicago and I drive a 1993 Audi 90. Yes thats right, a 1993 90. I know there are a lot of B5/B6 drivers here and I would try to mesh to old and the new. Nkugs90, myself, and a few others drive older Audi's. Regardless of age we would like to produce some type of light meet-up, more or less a time to get boozed. Heck why not.

a_cq, fellow Chicagoan and Audi driver, suggested Montrose Harbor. I think this may be a good place to stack a bunch of cars. If this happens it will be April 29, that is next Friday night.

I don't know any of the newer car guys. Seems like there is a tight camaraderie here in Chicago and since I and others are part of the brotherhood that is the four rings, why not get to know each other.

So be that. Consider a small meet-up. Bring some cameras and your thirst.

I'll try to make it. you guys should sign up for the next Auto-X.. May 29th.

would be cool having some older Audi's compete, would also be a great opportunity to meet everyone.

thanx, a_cq may be up for the track but not me....

I am in the process of a major suspension overhaul. Well not major. I am just getting some Bilstein sports and droppin her 1.4" with springs from Vogtland. But the stock suspension needs to come off first before I do anything slightly fun.

just run with what ya got.. you don't need a suspension upgrade.

It certainly would help your times, assuming you can drive. I kinda wish I did an auto-x event before installing my suspension though, so I could have compared results. I waited to do an event, and that was a big mistake. I thought I needed to do upgrades, but I really did not. I am running Vogtland springs now, great spring.. I am rubbing like crazy though with my Koni's set to 40% on the front. I need to either have those stiffened, or figure a way I can adjust them at the track. You could even come out and just have fun, your more than welcome to ride a session or 2 with me.

ha ha , its not an upgrade, well it is, but at this point its necesity!

My front driver strut is nearly collapsed along with a bad strut mount and knockin ball joints. The rear passenger shock is nice and bouncy. So it would almost be unsafe for me to track it. This is the stock suspension from my car, so its 12 years old. It took me years to get my butt in gear to do this fix/upgrade. After I do I will be one happy clam.
