does anyone in the immediate downtown chicago area have experience taking off the side view mirrors?

The glass itself or the whole housing?

Not that I am near downtown, but which part?

here is the scoop...

i currently in munich, germany. but need some kind soul to run over to my place, take my mirrors off (not sure yet, got an email sent in regards to exactly what parts), and ship em for me.

i am in a possible trade for polished mirrors in return. so thus the LARGE FAVOR.

Not on a B5.....

but I had a pick up truck a few years back and I hit a tree while playing baja-boy. Took the mirror right off.

And then there is my current truck.... someone was nice enough to take it off for me when it was parked in front of my house. I reattached it with three drywall screws. No problem.

On the B5 I would think that you would go at it from inside. I would imagine that you would start by removing the door panel and seeing what is in there. I can't actually remember what it looks like in there...
