Default Eruo blind spot mirror glass

I have OEM blindspot mirror glass on my B5 A4 and want to do the same for my new '08 B7 A4. However the electronics are a little more complex than my B5 mirrors are (defog).

Has anyone tried this?

Default I don't think it's really needed IMO

If the mirrors are adjusted properly, there is no blind spot. The time the car begins to disappear in your rear view mirror, it should begin to appear in your side mirror. Adjust also to make sure that as the vehicle begins to disappear from your side mirror that it should begin to appear in your peripheral vision.

Having said that, I still do the shoulder check.

Default You have to buy the auto-dimming ones if you have that option

And those are very expensive. If you don't have auto-dimming mirrors then it is not an expensive swap.

I had the non-dimming ones on my B6, I am a big fan of the euro blind spot mirrors.

But I have auto-dimming now and can't justify the cost.

Default we are going to Europe in Nov and wil try to score one at the Audi delivery centre

I figured the auto dim and de-fog would be a little more $. I purchased my B5 drivers side mirror glass during a 2003 trip. I think this time I will get the part number ahead of time to be sure. I also added the UK mirror glass to my B5s passenger side.

I'm a big fan too of the Euro blind spot mirrors and they have saved my butt many times.

Thanks for the info.

Default I think you and I have had this discussion before.

And I still believe you can't have too much mirror.

Default We stock standard heated blindspots.

For the Auto-dimming feature there's roughly a $200 surcharge. We can special order it if you'd like, just shoot us an email.

Default

If you can live without the auto-dim then it will be much cheaper.

Default Thanks Mike, I think I bought my UK B5 mirror from you a few years ago.

I will let you know if I decide to do the project.

Default Re:

Have had the euro mirrors on my TT nearly from the start, and I agree fully.

Congrats Chris on the E+C. Got hitched here one day prior, 7.6.7. Would love to find auto-dimming euros for the wife's pending Avant purchase, so let me know what you find..

Thanks!

Rich

Default RA

Will do Rich. I will be chatting with my tech to find out if remove / replace is any different than before. And hopefully get a part number range to make sure I get the correct Euro OE version.

Congrats to you and your bride as well. 7-7-07 was a very hot day in Chicago.

That's an old pic of RA. I finally ran it last year with the Badger Bimmers. Can't wait to do it again.
