so who can make me huge audi ring decals to put on the side of my car?
talk about a change. this vehicle is so filthy it's not even funny. i guaranty i'll be spending at least 8 hours detailing the interior. not even to make it good as new, just to make it 'good enough'. it's real sticky and dirty. i've never owned a car so grimy. the exterior needs a new bumper and a front light which i knew and ordered. the rear trunk is a little bit different color and the rear bumper's paint is peeling a bit on top. there's a small dent like someone punched the rear quarter panel which i'll knock out as much as i can. no hubcaps, just little steelies. the brakes grind a bit when you first use them so i'll be replacing those next week. the car's tinted out the ghetto way so the rear window is filled with bubbles. i'll try to take off as much as i can and clean that up as well. the cruise control doesn't seem to work (which i'll never use) and an airbag light keeps blinging on the dash (looks like i'll put a piece of tape over it). there's some massive decals and badges on the rear decklid from the places that used to own the car so i guess i'll be debadging the beast. and i'm assuming the previous owner was hispanic because there's the remnants of an old english spanish word on the windshield.
the rear speakers work, tape deck, radio, lights, and gauges all work too. the car runs surprisingly smooth although i've only gotten it up to 65.
all in all i guess i shouldn't be complaining. what should i expect for a grand? it is a huge change going from a $43k car to this however. my sensible side knows this was a smart decision since i'll be able to pay off my debts and finish my mk2 by summer with the money i'll be saving. but man, every other part of me is wondering WTF i'm thinking!
i'll post some pictures of the beast tommorrow. my friends want me to get spinner hubcaps and all which i think'd be funny to do, but those things are like $60 and i'm not trying to put a cent into this car unless it's to help it run.
i also thought it'd be funny to have a little bit of fun with the car and put a vw badge in place of the audi badge, and maybe some audi rings on it. it'll be rice as hell to anyone that doesn't know the car, but everyone that knows should get a laugh out of it.
