Problems with putting on the Automatic transmission filter

Hi,

Well I drained and filled my fluid the other day, and it was leaking so I had to open it today and the bolt attached to the dipstick had broke in half. Am I going to have go buy a whole new dipstick now? Or can I just buy the bolt and somehow put it on? An easy job turned bad...

Bolt? Are you referring to the flare nut on the end of the dipstick?

That then screws into the side of the pan?

Take it to a tube fabricator.

YOu should have a local shop that makes hoses and tubes, mostly for home A/C, but they'll have all the tube fabricating equipment and accessories to get you a new flare nut and flare the end of that tube again. It will need to be cut to put the new nut on, and then flared again.
