Tabula or anyone else, please help!

My 93 90cs is having major issues. When I put my car in park, the engine revved up. Then when I turned it off, it screeched as if it was trying to engage the starter.

The car starts back up fine, but Neutral and Park now have the starter trying to fire.

Also, it also knocked out my lights, blinkers, climate control and I don't know what else

Sounds like a bad ignition switch.

also, have the starter looked at before you go and have the ignition switch replaced. i had the same problem, and i thought switch all the way, but it ended up being worn gears in the starter. saved me 200 bucks.

MikTip - If the part # for the ignition switch is the same

as in the recall, wouldn't Audi be required to replace it in my 93 as well as the 94-96, even though it wasn't specified for my model year?

Or am I blowing smoke up the wrong tree?
