Does this sound like *definitely* head gasket?

I've got froth in my oil. I ran cleaner through and changed the oil a couple of weeks ago. Since then I've only driven the car about 3 times and the froth is back. No oil in the coolant as far as I can tell. Car seems to run fine. Is this just the cold weather and the age of the car or do I need a new head gasket?

If your drives are short, then it may just be condensation under teh valve cover mixing with oil.

Get a compression check.

Where is the froth? On the end of the dipstick?

I am having a similar problem with froth on the end of the dipstick after a short run time, only I have the added pleasure of having the oil pressure warning light coming on as well. My compression is spot on and the head gasket is new. Does the froth go away after letting it sit for a while?

Re: there shouldn't be any froth... but it can come from slight water condensation. also, too high

of an oil level. Or incorrect oil type for the engine.

My oil is a little too high. The froth is on the filler cap and up the dipstick. There's a little on the end (bottom) of the dipstick too. I do make short journeys. What's the easiest way to let out a little oil?
