Replacing cat on '89 90 and strange buzzing...
Anyways I did some searching and have found the best/cheapest thing to do is buy an aftermarket cat for ~$65 from summit.
-All I need to do is find a shop that will cut the old cat off and weld the new one on correct? Do I need to have the rest of the exhaust checked out (I don't know much about car maintenance), some said a broken cat will clog up the exhaust...
-Also, I've had this problem since I bought the car last year, but forgot to ever mention it. In the rear under the car (around or at the "suitcase" as I have heard it called), there is a buzzing noise. It sounds more like an electronic buzz rather than a mechanical noise though. What exactly is the "suitcase" for and what does this buzzing mean?
