windshield/battery update (lengthy)
The dude took a couple very small chucks out of my a-pillar, on the outside of the car....tore a piece of the weather stripping around the window, in half. Then he put the new windshield in...In finishing the job, he couldn't figure out to get my rearview mirror off the old windshield so he basically broke that too. To put it in the new one, he used that black goopy stuff to hold it in place, so it looks like ****, and he also got that stuff on the cf hood. Here is the topper to the whole thing: Walk out to my car, totally stressed about school, being way behind yesterday, look at my windshield, what do I see? crack, right down in the corner, about 6" long, no dings, just a pressure crack cause the guy did his job horribly. I have a call into the warranty dept. for another windshield and rearview mirror, we'll see what happens, the girls on the phone are really nice so I think Ill come out on top. Here is what it basically comes down to- They got the right windshield and took care of dealing with the insurance, which was great. the people that do the work on the car, don't know how to respect a car, especially one that someone takes pride in.Battery: way clean install, very impressed with how smooth the whole job went. Going to have a buddy fabricate a box for it soon. for some reason though, my stereo isn't working...I think we knocked a wire out when shoving the ginormous cable through behind it, Im not too worried about it, I like listening to my car while I drive anyway.
Car is definitely handling better, there are a few on-ramps I need to give it the real test on, and take it down Cuckanut, but it feels really nice so far.
The battery relocation is on my list of things to do next. (painting first)
