check the connection to your maf
then check the n75 wastegate control sollenoid
best bet is to get your hands on a vagtool to see what the problem is. I was stuck in limp mode for 5months trying to figure out what was wrong, only and replaced the N75 to no avail. In the end it turned out that a cable broke underneath the sheath and I had to resolder it. Imagine the feeling of going from limp mode to being chipped for the first time =0.
You could start checking the hoses and boost gauge connections. Scan the ECU with vag.com to pull any codes that might give you a clue. Finally, pressure test the system to see if there is a leak. Somebody posted a nice write up on building your own pressure tester...scan through today's posts.
