So, apparently dealers have now been instructed by AoA to begin replacing all CPs even if you had...

no failures yet. I haven't been able to confirm it with my service advisor, but I'll be sure to push him to get all my CPs (still working) replaced when I go in for service in a few weeks.

only 2001s, 2002s, and some early 2003s are covered by this "recall".

So are they going to be replacing all of those with the CP's

that were on the 2000 car?

that's what I'd like to know too...

They'll either replace the "H" coils with "J" coils or with "E" coils (the good old design from 2000).

If I had a choice, I think I'd go for "E", judging by the heavy-duty looks of them. I haven't heard any "E" failure stories yet, whereas I have heard of people having the "J" coils fail on them.

I know of a few, but that is very small compared to

what the 2001+ CP's have been doing. I still have all 4 of my stock 2000 E version CPs with 100K miles and I have pushed them pretty hard with 3 different turbo setups.
